I've had this problem a long time, since i bought it.
I'm using bizlink DP adapter.
Tried it on dell with native DP and same thing.
Changed cables... no good.
Some posts that i found on interweb say that a lot of people fixed the problem with updating bios.
I have tried latest 3 bios versions from here but none fixed my issue.
People say it is dysplayport voltage issue. Is there a way for me to manually add correct value for DP voltage in it's bios and what should it be?
I hope someone here has some info about this.

It is sapphire HD5870 gamer edition 1gb.

Hey all,

I've been having an issue with a computer being unable to get past the startup Windows logo animation after installing the HD 7770 vapor-x. For the life of me, I can't figure out what's going on, but here's the best description I can provide:

1. The computer was completely reformatted with a fresh installation of Windows 7 Ultimate x64. The onboard graphics card worked fine.

2. The computer was completely disconnected from all power, and the 7770 was installed.

3. The computer booted and made it to the login screen with no issue. However, the screen resolution was stuck at 640x480, and the colors were all low-quality and pixelated.

4. The drivers that came bundled with the card were installed.

5. The computer was restarted.

6. The computer entered an infinite loop of arriving at the Windows logo, staying there for several seconds, and then restarting.

The computer will boot in Safe Mode without issue, though the resolution/color problem persists. Checking the Device Manager shows only the 7770 in the display adapters section. It is using the 9.12.0.0 version of the driver.

I've done as much digging as I can to try and address the problem, but nobody seems to have an answer. I'm hopeful that someone here can provide some insight. Thank you in advance!

I wish this was a software issue, but I formatted/reinstalled Windows 8 64bit, Installed the latest drivers.

For a couple days I was in heaven, so far its been the most powerful card I've ever owned.

Three days later and now everytime the gpu is underload my screens go blank, Monitor leds orange like they're receiving no signal and my PC just hangs.

Unfortunately its on its way back to Amazon, and they'll credit my account as I really cant put my faith in another one.

Is this a known issue? Case has good airflow, even bought a couple extra 120mm fans. Clock/mem speed were stock.

Im going to hold off until the 8xxx series, I usually go Sapphire but this recent issue has me thinking otherwise.

PSU: CoolerMaster M2 620 Watt - one 12Volt rail ----> 50 Ampere
GPU: Sapphire HD-7770 Vapor-X OC 1GB GDDR5
AMD driver Catalyst 13.4
OS: Windows 8
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

For my daughter I installed a separate Win8 setup (second boot OS), only for running games. At this moment only "Sims3" for PC is installed. This game is known also for Sony Wii players.
The software also is connected to internet as for updates, and when using an account to share parts of it by other members. But till now, only the internet connection is used for software updates (maybe bug-fixes as well).

After a while, the screen changes e.g. into a complete black screen and is freezed up in this situation. We have to hard reset the system. But we also have met freezing up the screen into a kind of yellow color over the total screen with a tiny structure in it. Green/blue structure, like a very fine structure of tartan (Scottish plaid). So the freezing up is every-time in a different color and structure.

We met this problems more early using AMD Catalyst 13.1 - 13.2 beta7 - 13.3 beta3 - and now still using 13.4 version

As it is not a "speed" game, I doubt that the graphic card is running at exhausting high power.
The play is in making a "house" in 3D and to arrange with furniture and things like that. The scene is rendered in a rather low resolution and a simple color scheme. The only "speed" is by turning the scene into another angle or position.

I don't think my PSU is the problem. It is a rather powerful type. Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 - 80 Plus Bronze - 620 Watt. Only one 12 volt rail, but as a maximum of 50 Ampere.
Only oddity is that specs at the Cooler Master website is giving only 32 Ampere as a maximum. The values as printed at the power supply itself as also within the enclosed description, 50 Ampere is the printed value.

As I am not a gamer at all myself, I don't have problems with my PC running all kinds of normal software (neither Photoshop CS6 - 3D section), running HD movies (I have a blue ray player installed within my mobo). etc.

Some suggestions?

I just built a brand new PC:

Main Hardware Information:
AMD FX8350
Asus Sabertooth 990FX/GEN3 R2.0
Sapphire 7870 Ghz x 2
Coolermaster Silent M 700 watt 80 PLUS

Other Hardware Information :
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD
Asus Blu-ray/DVD player/writer

Software Information:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Video Card Drivers in Use 12.104-130328a-155980C-ATI
Motherboard Drivers Used: Latest Asus/AMD Chipset drivers

Everything is working great so far. I can enable crossfire in VCC and alter settings for both cards, and the Asus monitoring programs recognize both cards. However, when I boot up a game in full screen to utilize the crossfire there are terrible flickering horizontal lines going crazy rolling up the screen when ever there are 3d graphics being rendered on the screen (I don't see the lines on still frames, or loading screens with no 3d rendering). Turning on/off vsync or triple buffering will change the frequency of the lines on the screen. The slave card activates on queue. I can see this because the fan will turn on right as the game boots up.

What I've done to troubleshoot the issue:

Reinstall the cards, one at a time verifying that each card works in either of the PCIe slots. I also switched the cards around in the PCIe3.0 slots. Everything works fine.

Used different crossfire bridges.

Used both HDMI and DVI->VGA to test output on the same display.

Double checked the bios and the manual to make sure there was nothing I needed to change to properly enable crossfire on the board.

I could try to switch displays, but I don't think that will help.

I have no idea what else to do. Hopefully somebody here has seen this problem before, or some GPU Gurus can offer suggestions. Thanks in advance.

When using the bluetooth adapter for audio on an edge VS8 I've got a stutter issue.
I use windows 8 Pro and a Samsung 840 Pro SSD and 8 Gb internal memory.
The bluetooth audio adapter is a Logitech Wireless Speaker Adapter. If I connect to this adapter from an Android device the audio is played without stutter.
I've tried to use a default windows driver, but the adapter is not recognized without the Ralink driver.
I've als tried the Generic and a Microsoft Bluetooth driver but these drivers do'nt match with the bluetooth adapter in the edge VS8.
Pairing is not an issue and the Logitech is positioned at different locations close to the Edge Vs8, despite a good reception audio stutters.
Sometimes it takes 10 to 20 minutes before stutter starts.
It doesn't matter if audio from Youtube, Local disk or DLNA-device is played.
Processor-load is less then 10% when stutter starts!
Is there an alternative version or other driver available for this bluetooth adapter, because I think this is a Bluetooth driver issue?
