Default R9 290 Tri X OC Black Screen Fix!!!

Hi guys! I recently bought Sapphire R9 290 Tri X 4GB OC, and after few days it start Black Scree. I could not enter in any game, the screen freez and start Black. I try all drivers from 13.12 to 14.8 and the problem was same. Yesterday I contact Sapphire Support ( Many Thanks ) and open a new Ticket about my problem. I send them my Bios Information, and they say that they have new Bios Version for my GPU. They send me both new VBIOS and instructions how to flash my card. After i did successfully flashed to new VBIOS, no more freezing and Black Screen any more. I am playing Battlefield 4 and other games without problems. I see that many of you have Black Screen problem so maybe that can Help You. Once Again, Many Thanks To Sapphire Support !!! If someone want I can attach VBIOS and instruction they send me.

Don't know. I have Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC and they send me those bios for them. Didn't test on any other card!

Hi, I sent bruc my email, would like to get that BIOS. I have the same card as you bruce - i got BSOD (not blue, but Black Screen of Death) only with the latest beta drivers.
I can't really complain about beta drivers, but I think that they will release them the way they are.

The thing is - AMD devs probably lowered the voltages on the new beta releases (Catalyst 14.7 rc3) to address numbers of dead GPUs and overheating in reference cards. It works if you are on 1250 memory clocks, but for us, OC owners, already low voltages for 1300 MHz just got even lower, causing that damn black screen for the most of us. It was ok to lower the voltage for the reference cards, but OC edition now suffers as it has a smaller headroom for downvolting it's chips. I guess either new BIOS or driver fix would solve that. Since I don't think AMD will change their policy, I am forced to look for support towars Sapphire. I have already tried BIOS from the plain 290 Sapphire Tri-X since it has 1260 mem clock and it works rock solid, even with the 14.7 beta. So either underclocking my stock 1300 DRAM or putting some more volts manually through Trixx. I prefer BIOS over Trixx because Trixx and similar overclock utils (MSI AB, ASUS Gpu Tweak...) loads later in Windows load queue, allowing black screen freezing, so it's not a good solution.

Also I have a few questions for you, burc: do you still have 1300 memory clock out of the box with the new BIOS they sent you, or you have to clock it manually ? How did you get your BIOS, I mean, what's the procedure to get it from the official source ?
    Thanx
